Breakfast makes peace

Somewhere beyond "true" and "false" there is a field. I will meet you there

Jalal ad-Din Rumi

to meet the "other" - to meet "myself

Saturday morning, beautiful day...

About 10 Israelis gather and travel together to a magical wadi in the heart of Mount Hebron to a falahi family that lives simply. Between plowed fields and a Byzantine wall, a pile of scrap metal and a tractor. The herd goes out to graze with young Mohammed, and we pass the hill. There Issa and his family are waiting for us and together with them - two families of settlers who came to spend Shabbat with them together with the children. There is a happy bustle, between breakfast, and a yoga class to prepare the knafe.

This is not a political meeting, (although we cannot ignore the politics involved...). This is a human meeting, to come to learn, listen and get to know the other, get to know myself and examine together whether it is possible for us all to live here (in peace!) and together?

The conversation is multifaceted, deep and attentive. Not an extreme debate about who is right and who is wrong.... nor is there an attempt to convince the other of our truth.

One of the young men says: "I came to find new friends." A peace activist says that she is excited to sit together with so many young people and this is the first time she can meet settlers, talk and get to know them.

We meet there as human beings to really explore another possibility. It's exciting, it's alive and vibrant and it kicks wildly at the premise that says that peace is not possible - because what happens there is peace, full and complete that contains everyone and accepts all the people of the earth together. For those who haven't been there, it raises an eyebrow and laughs. For those who are there, it brings a smile and joy.

This is just a drop in the ocean, but a drop and another drop will become the sea.

A wise Tibetan koan asks: "How will you keep one drop from drying up?

You put her in the ocean.

This is our opportunity to tell everyone that peace is real, and possible. If only we learn to look honestly into each other.

Thank you for the privilege to be a part of this.

Eyal

On the right side (Yaakov Raz)

"Sometimes, between me and my self, I think I'm on the right side I am for the oppressed and against the oppressors. In favor of social justice of course for peace and against war I draft letters and sign others

All, of course, on the right side I act with compassion, with attention opposes the use of force completely on the right side (...)

But What do we know about the love of the land of settlers, leftists, Palestinians. Bedouins and others And who are all these Who gave them names and when did they give them all these signs who closed their lives on us (...)

Which side is it the sorrow ? what is its original face ?

Maybe they are similar to mine, almost twins Same- and try find the differences And if so, which side am I on? and before I hasten to do the right things Maybe, for a moment Allow me to be Without any side "

PS

In order to create an opportunity to create a possibility for peace, you need desire, time, energy and also some money...

If what you have read is important to you, and you would like to support the peaceful carrying of such activities and a routine presence every week in the cultivation of neighborly relations, I would appreciate it if you could help.

Thank you Eyal
